Dr Petty was my hero. He cared for my ex-husband's eyes after retinal detachments. Then my daughter had a detachment 3 days before her 21st birthday. Her husband drove her from Grand Junction to me in Eagle, CO, and I drove her on to Denver after alerting Dr. Petty's office. He did surgery that afternoon. He saved Julia's vision. For many years his practice was the only retinal practice in Colorado and they cared for patients from surrounding states. They flew to outlying areas to provide care. Dr. Stephen Petty cares for both of my 90 yr. old parents. My mom has been blind with macular degeneration (AMD) since she was 68. Unfortunately, the Avastin and Eylea shots used to treat the internal bleeding of AMD weren't available when she lost her eyesight. My dad's AMD started in one eye a couple of years ago. The Eylea shots administered by Dr. Petty have pretty much stopped the internal bleeding in this eye, thereby retarding advanced onset of (AMD).
