My spine surgery was very extensive ... and successful! Dr. Johnson is very caring and concerned for a patients welfare. He spends the time to explain all aspects of an MRI and subsequent surgery, if required. Hospital nurses said I was lucky to have had him as a surgeon, as his outcomes are among the best they see. In my case Dr. Johnson worked with another surgeon, each on their own speciality. It was comforting to have each honor the other's speciality and work together.

I'm glad everyone else seems to have had positive experiences with Dr. Johnson, but that was not my case. He seemed very invested in treating what the MRI showed instead of my actual symptoms, and he did not listen to me or believe what I said. He also jabbed me with a safety pin repeatedly even though it hurt and I kept telling him so. I left the office feeling shaken and anxious. Thank god I got a second opinion in which the doc listened to me and treated my actual symptoms.

He was very thorough in his evaluation and spent 1 hour and 30 minutes on my first visit going over my MRI of the spine and explaining in detail the surgery needed and the recovery. He also detailed carefully all of the possible complications and risks of the surgery. He rates with the very best of neurologists. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.
