Recently had a consult - I wasn't 100% sure what to expect because the doc who did my colonoscopy gave no information about the referral. I believe that Dr. Pannell is probably a good doctor but my consult was rough. I am an aging gay man and had questions that I was clearly not able to ask because the consult was fast and perfunctory. Even if there had been time I would not have been comfortable asking about legit issues. Overall, UTMC does a horrible job with LGBTQ+ patients.
Dr. Pannell is an excellent surgeon. I had a colon resection done robotically by Dr. Pannell and I had an excellent experience. I felt great within one day after surgery. My wife could'nt believe how good I looked so soon after this operation. I had never had such a major surgery and had some fear going into the decision, but the good doctor put me at ease.
I had colon cancer. Dr. Pannell saved my life. She actually gives a shit and it makes all the difference in the world.
