When I heard someone say that Dr. Jordan thinks outside the box, I stifled my sigh. It's a tired platitude and, frankly, incongruous because for true innovators, there is no box. Given my complex medical history stemming from a surreal crush injury, the exquisite, ubiquitous pain with which I live became the barometer of all aspects of my life.
