Dr. Sheema Akhtar is the Very Best! She consistently delivers excellent, high level care. Dental or periodontal treatments can be anxiety producing, especially with someone like myself, who has receding gums and hypersensitivity. Each treatment, she puts me at ease! Dr. Akhtar is highly competent and has a friendly disposition, which is greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Akhtar!
Ive been to 3 appts with her so far. One to take xrays and measure my pretty bad gum disease. One to have a full scaling/deep gum cleaning.. And one to finish and check progress. Ya know I was SO nervous going into that second appt. Its my big fear having my teeth worked on... She was incredibly patient. She did everything she could to make me comfortable, even tho my teeth decided to be sensitive and required several numbing shots throughout the procedure...she still was great. I recently saw Dr. Akhtar about some gum issues. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The mouth exam was very detailed. She communicated what she was doing, gave her diagnoses and opinion, explained my options in detail, provided some educational materials, then asked if I had any questions. Will definitely be returning. The only downside is that her schedule can fill up pretty fast.
