I have been seeing him for my back and he has helped mr immensely. I would highly recommend Dr. Furst - is relaxed and explains options well and he is always smiling - I trust him.
I met Dr. Furst a year ago. For 2 years I took pain meds that really didn't work. After all the pain and wasted medication I was introduced to Dr. Furst. The man gave me my life back!!! He is kind, attentive and enjoys a good joke. His procedures are mindful and not science fiction based as I thought. I am pain free thanks to Dr. Furst.
He is a better communicator than most doctors. And will give you as much information as you ask for. He is relaxed and in no hurry though he is thorough in a short visit. Unlike my last pain management Dr L., Dr Furst did the proceedure on the vertebra he said he would. I experienced very little pain (just to know he hit the correct spot causing me to twitch) during the proceedure and none afterwards. The nurse. Asked what music I wanted to listen to and found the album on YouTube.
It took 3 months to get the first appointment. He seems to be very busy, but that is an indication that he is in high demand. He was quite through on the first visit and seemed familiar with my case. He was very clear with his first option and deciding on a course of treatment was very easy. I have great hopes that I will get considerable relief under Dr. Furst's care.
The amount of time it took to see Dr. Furst after making the actual appointment took longer than I would have liked, but the visit was a really good one. He seems like an excellent doctor, based on the one appointment I've had with him thus far. He is not a proponent of narcotics for management of pain. He is an excellent listener and right away I felt as though he really understands pain. I'm looking forward to the next visit.
RecommendedDr. Shawn Furst is a fantastic physician. I had severe neck pain due to pinched nerves and severe arthritis. Dr. Furst performed procedures that have virtually removed almost all of my pain. He is a very good listener, compassionate, empathetic, and guided me through each of the 3 procedures I had.
