Family member is in his care currently. Patient went to the emergency room about pain she was in and had a CT scan then was sent to the main hospital after the emergency room radiology department found that she needed surgery. Dr Kortz never showed up to talk to her until her third day in the hospital and then didn’t want to acknowledge how she was feeling, ie the pain wasn’t going away. Everybody in this office was great, from the receptionist to the nurse to Dr. Baer himself. He is well-educated, warm, caring, articulate, and really pays attention to your needs. Best of all, he told me my hernias are so small that he recommends no action at this time...maybe a nerve block later if they pain me too much. He explained his reasoning very clearly. I would definitely use him if I needed surgery, and recommend him to others.
Dr. Vernon is a delightfully bright and compassionate doctor.
I had partial thyroidectomy yesterday. Dr. Kortz did an amazing job. I barely lost any of my voice in which almost every story I read about thyroidectomy said there was almost always a loss of voice. I was of course nervous about this surgery, nervous about cancer and he made me feel so comforted all the way through to the end!
Dr ports performed a whipped operation (pancreas), very complicated and but a few surgeons are qualified with "successful" experience. Results very successful. He took time before and after surgery to discuss procedure. I highly recommend and don't allow an inexperienced surgeon to perform this operation on you!!!
Outstanding physician with skills above reproach. First priority is the safety of the patient. Second priority is superior outcomes. This man goes above and beyond all expectations! No other options for my care!
I was at a loss to find a source for choosing a surgeon. My primary recommended someone who I was not interested in so I turned to my insurer Aetna, what a waste of time. This experience with Aetna has convinced me to drop them from now on. I chose Dr. Vernon after a concerted effort with the information available. Dr. Vernon was the best I could have hoped for with my hernia repair. Well done and I could not be happier with the result.
Dr. Baer did my hernia surgery last year. I awoke from the surgery feeling fine. However, after the surgery, I start getting bills from all kinds of places including one from AN ASSISTANT HE NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT. Apparently he wasn't able to do the surgery the way he explained, and someone OUT OF NETWORK assisted. No one from Dr. Baer's office knew about it, and I ended up paying $556 extra. To top it, Laurie in billing was so rude when I inquired about their mistake and my medical bill! AWFUL.
