Dr. Chen was my mother's doctor for five years before she passed away. We found him to be very kind and compassionate which is especially important to a geriatric patient. Before becoming Dr Chen's patient my mother felt the doctors I took her to did not like or have time for elderly people. He would always listen and sympathize with her even when she was not always being reasonable. He does truly care about his geriatric patients. Dr. Chen has cared for my 88 year old father for a little over 2 years. He is willing to schedule his visits with my father so that I am able to attend. Dr. Chen is an active listened and he takes the family's perspective into consideration. He checks his messages frequently and returns calls promptly. Lastly, Dr. Chen is a team player and he works well with a wide variety of facility staff members.
Dr. Shawn Chen has been my mom’s physician for 8 years. She is 89 and in an assisted living facility. I have appreciated Dr. Chen’s caring and honest discussions as her health has declined. He always returns my phone calls that same day! It has brought me peace of mind knowing I can call him with immediate discussion and he is able to see her at the facility. Dr. Chen has cared for my 87-year-old mother for about two and a half years in a memory care facility. My mother loves his visits and reports that he is “kind and funny”.
