On 2/6/25 I didn’t get Stephanie champion when I went in to have my baby. Instead I got this woman. Immediately when I got there for my induction, I was checked and the nurse said I was 3cm. The dr came in right after starting the Pitocin, and said it’s time to pop your water. I was thinking to myself Wow that’s a little quick, but sure I guess. Having the right OB this time around has made me realize just how negative my past experience with Dr. Zavala truly was. During my early pregnancy exam TEN years ago, I was nervous and tearful. Instead of offering reassurance, she said, “Wow, you’re okay — women don’t usually react this way unless they’ve been raped or something… which I hope wasn’t the case.” She also made another highly inappropriate remark: “Okay, now spread your legs like a good cheerleader.” during a pelvic exam. Dr. Zavala was so warm and friendly. I went for an annual exam and was in and out in 20 minutes! My least favorite appointment of the year won’t be so dreadful now that I feel like I finally found a good gynecologist.
