She is an excellent doctor. Has been seeing my children for over 12 years now. She sees all three of my girls.
My children, ages 3 and 5, have seen Dr. Lucas since infancy. The wait time is long, but her friendliness makes up for it. She speaks directly to them, calmly explaining what she is going to do next (check your ears, listen to your heart, etc.). She referred my son for glasses when I had no idea he had a vision problem. She respects my parenting decisions, and always asks at the end if I have any more questions. My children have never needed a sick visit, so I can't comment on sick care.
Would never recommend her. She didn't seem to care my 10 month old had 105 degree fever and was annoyed I wanted to bring her in. She asked me what I was calling her for as if that is normal in a child. Her attitude is horrible and she acted like I was an overbearing new mom for being concerned about a high fever. Ended up in the ER with IV and medication needed. She is the worst pediatrician we have ever come across.
She is rude, doesn't listen, rushes, makes you wait an hour after your appointment. Then when I tried asking questions about what she saw and what we should do, she told me I was paranoid and to go somewhere else if I don't believe her. I can't believe any doctor would say that to a concerned mom. She doesn't answer my questions and said that if I want, we can give baby medicine even though he doesn't need it. I'm pretty sure doctors aren't supposed to suggest medicines that patients don't need.
Do not use her. At first she was very sweet but then started to care less and less. The wait is always ridiculous. I saw her twice in one week for my 6 month old. Both times she told me it was just a cold. Come to find out, she had pneumonia.
Amazing bedside manner and very knowledgeable. She values my input as a mom and is always optimistic even when I am not. Her follow up calls regarding my kids make her irreplaceable.
