I was born and raised right here in Durham NC. After attending college at Duke I ventured north to Boston where I completed most of my medical training and was fortunate to meet and marry the love of my life my husband Neil (also on faculty as a cardiologist here at Duke). I returned to Durham for my Glaucoma fellowship briefly joined the faculty across the street at UNC-Chapel Hill and then returned home to Duke Eye Center in 1995 where I have been on the faculty ever since. Our family was blessed with a beautiful little granddaughter, who was born with a rare condition called congenital glaucoma. At just six days old our sweet granddaughter and her parents drove from NYC to Durham to see Dr Freedman. Dr. Freedman is caring, patient, and devoted to her patients and puts their families at ease. Most of all, Dr. Freedman made us stronger and gave us hope. I feel confident that in Dr. Freedman’s care our granddaughter has the best chance of a positive outcome.
Amazing doctor. We come from over 4 hours away to see Dr. Freedman. She has performed surgery on our son, and helped coordinate surgeries with other specialists to limit trips for us. She is a wonderful lady, and knows her stuff!
