I first met Dr. Khaitov in 2013 after a surgery 5 months prior at another hospital. I only wish he could have done my 1st surgery. He is amazing as a surgeon & person. He really cares about your well being. His staff is wonderful. I was taken to the wrong hospital by ambulance in June 2016. He worked tirelessly for 3 days to get an ambulance from Mt. Sinai to pick me up & perform a surgery that saved my life. He called me & my family every day checking in. Not too many Dr's behave this way.

My ulcerative colitis was out of control and getting worse. When I needed emergency surgery Dr. Khaitov did an amazing job. He also did exceptional work for my two subsequent surgeries. Thanks to his incredible skill, I am today completely healthy and living a full life. Dr. Khaitov saved my life, and I could never thank him enough. Besides being a world class surgeon, he's a wonderful person, and he always took his time to explain what was happening and why. Highest possible recommendation.

Dr. Khaitov is the most respected colon & rectal surgeon @ Mount Sinai. As one of immeasurable technical skills and more importantly, moral decency, he is able to command a group of the finest physicians of his caliber in various fields who gladly collaborate with him and together conjure up flawless surgeries. I was in awe&disbelief at the fact that he spoke to my family in person 3 times on the day of surgeries & that he came see me everyday during my hospital stay. He's the very BEST for sure

He provided his skills for my son. He had colitis and every step of the way he answered all our questions. Knock on wood my son has his life back and was able to start college because of him and everyone at Mount Sinai hospital... we are grateful.

I can't say anything about his professionalism, but the service is ... very bad. I waited 3 weeks for to get the appointment with this doctor, and today ( day before the appointment), his secretary told me that this doctor can't accept my insurance. I gave all the necessary information 3 weeks ago!!! And those idiots could not immediately check if my insurance works with a doctor? !!! I wait three terrible weeks, suffering from pain and discomfort..Disgusting! Awful service!!!

Dr Khaitov is amazing. I seen him after two surgeons botched up my fistula surgery. I can honestly say this man sees you as a human and not as a price tag. He took his time with me sent me for a scan to get the correct diagnosis. He found the fistula and abscess and took care of it. Having crohns for 21 years now and not having a easy life, this is the only doctor is the only Doctor that treated me like a human. He even called me back himself over the weekend when I was having problems.

There needs to be more doctors like Sergey Khaitov. Skilled, compassionate, available. Outstanding!
