Lupron is horrible, she should not be putting people on it. She knew nothing about HCG and bio-identical progesterone when I saw her. Anyone could read pharmacy literature, this kind of doctor should know more! A glucose tolerance test is fine, metformin helps many women get pregnant. But please! Learn more about HORMONES
I had a similar experience as the person who posted before me: Dr. Chen failed to tell me I was hypothyroid, nor suggest treatment for it. I'm not sure if she was aware of it but one of her partners had tested me for it and not told me my TSH was too high. In any case, Dr. Chen SHOULD be testing your thyroid and making sure you are treated for hypothyroid if applicable. She had me take a glucose tolerance test, which is far more involved and unusual. Why? I did poorly on that test too but it didn't stop her from prescribing ... read more
I felt that her professional interest in me rose and fell with the expense of the treatment I was having. In fact, her office assistant made it clear that IVF patients got appointments more quickly than IUI patients who had to wait several weeks longer for a follow up. I was at IRMS for a year and didn't get pregnant only to find out that I was hypothyroid when I requested my file. Either she overlooked this or they deliberately ignored it in order to make money on treatments that were obviously not going to work. I then wen... read more
I am not somone to bash doctors. However Dr. Chen was a horrible doctor to both me and my husband. I have PCOS and we were trying to conceive for over 14 months. When we saw her she was very quick, judgemental, and showed lack of interest in helping us. We came to find out that our insurance did not cover her services. However she did genital cultures and blood work at the appt. A year and half later my husband and I have new insurance are are actually getting ready to do IUI in two weeks. I asked Dr. Chens office to send ov... read more
I lost my baby in third trimester. Very traumatic. I changed all my doctors and hospitals except Dr. Chen. I am very comfortable with her care. When you are her patient, You do not need to see her to pick her brains, she will answer any question you have, and give you any advice. She will also respect any decision you make, and some decision we are faced to make are not easy. She still surprises me with her kindness and compassion.
Agree Dr. Chen is motivated by money. Pushed Lupron even when I expressed concerns in writing. She misrepresented, via email, that Lupron would be safer if taken with progesterone aka Aygestin (norethindrone acetate). The opposite is true - see www.lupron.com - and I have a serious injury from Lupron. Bills me for follow-up I would not have needed had she not poisoned me. Failed to tell me I was hypothyroid after testing, which would have dissuaded me from taking Lupron. I underwent general anesthesia without thyroid treatme... read more
I agree 100 % with the person below. Right on target. Money hungry. Horrific bedside manner. Her one redeeming quality is the online help fertility boards. But she is the not the god she thinks she is.
Dr. Chen is a great doctor. She is very nice and caring and very helpful. Her nurse, Anne, is nice also but she takes a little time warming up to. One thing to remember with this clinic and others like this is that there are few of them. So the number of people they see are great. The morning is hectic but fast. You don't have an appointment when you are in an IVF or IUI cycle because they have to see you and everyone else so often - almost every day. Its just blood work and a quick exam. There is no way to go by appointment... read more
Dr. Chen is great. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all of my questions. She was very supportive during my infertility treatment and the miscarriages I experienced. Her nurse, Anne, is fabulous too. My entire experience at IRMS was great.
