I was unhappy from the jump. While making my first appointment here I made it very clear that I preferred a woman doctor, and was told they could accommodate to that preference. However when I arrived, a male doctor walked in. I wasn't comfortable but conformed with it since I was already there. I’ve had an appointment scheduled for weeks with Dr. Angra. I came to find the morning of my appointment that Dr. Angra was on vacation during our scheduled appointment and I was not told that I would only be seeing a nurse. This was my first appointment with a doctor in many years and after having to wait over an hour, the nurse checked my pulse and left while I was asking medical questions saying that I could ask my remaining questions if I came again next week. After check-in and my exam, I was not given clear directions and was left waiting—first in the hallway for 15–20 minutes, then in the exam room for about 30 minutes—without acknowledgment from staff. I was also uncomfortable being told my hair loss could be due to syphilis without appropriate context or sensitivity. I felt unheard, and the comment was unprofessional.
