I have had several procedures done by Dr. Kaltreider and I highly recommend her to friends. She's the best!
Dr. Kaltreider missed during surgery the small growth in my eye that she was trying to remove. 1 week post-op, I saw Dr. K who said it was "just swelling." She was very kind, but it was NOT swelling! I transferred to UVA since she missed it. Dr. K's office billed me for the full amount for "tumor removal"--$1200! I requested they consider lowering the bill and Monique the secretary was quite rude &no one returned my call. I paid the bill to end the drama. Would not recommend.
Business response:
The tumor was not "missed" during surgery. A 1 cm vascular lesion, a varix, was removed from the orbit. On the follow up visit, a 1mm grain, likely calcium, was palpable. No residual varix was visible or palpable. I encouraged her not to push her finger deep into the orbit as this can cause harm to the delicate tissues around the eye. Orbital surgery involves risks to delicate structures within the eye socket and is performed by highly skilled surgeons. I am sorry that she sees this as drama.
