My husband was seeing Dr Kumar for a surgical evaluation for a minor thing. He had a complete physical 2 weeks prior by his PCP with flying colors which included a prostate exam. Dr Kumar repeated the prostate exam and felt a thickness. We had biopsies and he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, high Gleason score. We had to have a radical prostatectomy , radiation and chemo. Poor bedside manner. Completely inappropriate responses, rude and disrespectful to nurse.
I was suffering from a bladder stone for close to a year and a half. Once I went to see Dr. Kumar, he removed the stone and I feel better than I have in 15 months!! Dr. Kumar was very thorough. After the operation, I had almost no pain (just a little burning when I urinated that lasted for less than a day) and no need for a catheter after the surgery (the entire surgical team and nursing staff at Milford Regional Medical Center were awesome!!!.) When working with him during the transplant process, he did not answer questions, was constantly late and didn’t even see us after surgery. Very disappointed that he is associated with our hospital’s transplant team.
Does not value your time, very disrespectful-never apologizes even when >1hr behind schedule. Staff seem to know this as comments include: "he's just like that" and "yeah that's how surgeons are" or "you should speak to him about that." I have been operated on by multiple surgeons for my spine, etc and never had to wait anywhere near the time I did in his office. If he can't handle his caseload then he should book differently, not waste his Pts time. Very unprofessional
