I have been with doctor Lerma for years. He is a wonderful doctor and pays good attention to what is going on with me. He is also my brother’s physician. I will always be grateful to him for the care and support he has given me and my Brother. If doctor Lerma thinks you need to see a specialist he’ll get you to the right one. Sammy Lerma was an EXCELLENT doctor until Covid hit now he doesn’t want anything to do with his patients just keeps saying “go to the ER” I’m like FOR A NON-EMERGENCY SIMPLE INFECTION just call in antibiotics after demanding for antibiotics for a year to year and half THEN he gives in after your way more sick then you were, hll I’m hard of hearing because of dr Lerma refusing to treat a simple double ear infection And as of today 07 09 24 I have had another double ear infection that I been trying to get antibiotics for since... read more
I made an appointment here to 'interview' Dr. Lerma, hoping he would become my PCP. I was approached with a series of rude & demanding communications from his office, including matter-of-fact instruction for me to officially convert Lerma to my PCP through Medicare/Ins before he will even see me. No way, moved on. Very bad patient relations, and that's everything I am not looking for.
Very responsive and always gets answers
I have been going to Dr. Lerma for years. I find him to be caring, knowledgeable and professional and is hands on as the Quarterback of my extensive Medical Team. Dr. Lerma is not even on my insurance plan but I will not change PCPs. His office staff is always cheerful, patient and helpful. I would like very much if Dr. Lerma would become a network provider for Sendero Healthplan.

He is a great caring doctor that listens to you and takes time to talk to you for as long as you need, yet somehow always has a wait time of less than five minutes maybe he has a twin? Simply love him. P.S. also handles all the insurance paperwork and always has a smile on his face.
Dr. Lerma seems a little curt at first, but as you get to know him, he is very friendly, professional, and willing to answer all your questions in as much detail as you need. He also gives very god referrals. I have been very pleased with the doctors he sent me to for treatment beyond his practice. Another big plus for me, He is not afraid to say I don't know or I'm not sure and suggest where you may get the answers you need. All in all, I'm very happy with his performance.
