I concur that he was like a robot - very little eye contact, he was actually belligerent. Questioning a diagnosis from my primary provider which I know to be accurate. Was snarky with me when I asked him to repeat something he had said. This man needs to work with a medical coach to learn how to interact with patients. I would never go back to him. He was actually hostile.

Disappointing visit. One hour wait in waiting room. When I was finally led to a room, the nurse came in and spent a few minutes with me. 15-20 minutes later Dr. Billow came in. He had a very cool, stiff manner, and was like a robot. Not friendly. He immediately sat down and began looking at my films on the computer, barely asking me any questions with very little eye contact. The physical exam was a few finger presses down my lower spine in a standing position, then in a sitting position where he tested my knee and ankle ref... read more

I thought I liked Dr. Billow until my last appointment when he turned into Mr. Hyde. He would not answer my questions and became oddly irritated with my use of the word “puncture”, though he wouldn’t tell me what word I should use. He would not show me pictures/illustrations of an RFA procedure. Instead of helping me with my chronic headaches (a result of his RFA procedure), he told me to get a second opinion. From reading his post visit notes, I see he omitted an important symptom which I reported and included things which ... read more

Telling a patient she needs bilateral hips and knees replaced, w/o bone on bone or osteoarthritis evidence/MRI? Quackery.

Dr. Bellows is a MUST for anyone who suffers from pain that can be eliminated or vastly reduced by a nerve block. In 2006 he gave me a nerve block when I felt like I had a very large knife in the middle of my back that kept me from walking, riding in a car or much else. Two years of pain pills had kept me more asleep than awake until I met Dr. Billows and he performed a nerve block that kept me pain free for 10 years. After that I have occasional pain from the middle of my back, but not enough for medication. Today, October ... read more

Although I've found benefit from injections elsewhere since 1996, after 2 sessions with Billow, I have not returned, and won't. As best I could tell, he didn't obtain prior records, and the medicines he injected made things worse both times. I go somewhere else now. I wonder if the PA has stayed to keep cleaning up his interpersonal messes, or grown weary of the office behavioral baggage. She was a bright contrast to the Dr.

I was referred to Dr Robert Billows, for pain mgmt. I have never been treated so poorly by a specialist no explanation very loud you get this or that is what I was told , he chose for me then was upset when I and my friend started asking questions about options! I was told loudly "I already referred you for surgery!!!" The best thing for me I guess! I'm not sure I would be safe with Dr Robert Billows coming near me with a needle. I was already scared not knowing what was happening to me, he was very rude , loud did not expla... read more

I first saw Dr. Billow 17 years ago. Saw him again this time for shots in lower back and follow up on left knee pain. He was very professional and easy going. The back pain was almost completely eliminated. Follow up with his PA Corrine who was also very professional and explained my options. I recommend highly.
