In 2009, I spent 6 weeks in Huntsville Hospital. I had a bad case of MRSA. My kidneys had completely failed, and I was septic. I don't have any memory of September 13 to October 5. On October 9, I met Dr. Spera for the first time. Like all the doctors that I saw that day, he told me that he didn't think I would make it through the night.
