I was injured in early August but X-rays were negative so I was sent to PT, which made my pain and mobility worse. An MRI showed full thickness tears in my gluteus medias and minimus tendons with retraction of the minimus. I was sent to Dr Gaines for surgical repair. He reviewed the MRI and said "I really can't do anything", gave me a shot of cortisone in my hip and told me to take 500 mgs of naproxen twice a day for 3 weeks and advised that I return when the cortisone wears off. It’s been almost 2 years since my ACL surgery. I did all the proper rehab work plus some. My knee hurts now worse than before the surgery. Unfortunately I’m pretty sure that it needs another surgery.
