Dr. Pettit was friendly and listened to my problems. He was very informative and recognized that I had a hernia, in addition to gall bladder problems, which I had come to correct. I would highly recommend him and Richmond surgical.
I did not get a warm feeling from this doctor at all.His staff made me feel like I did something wrong when the doctor missed my first appointment and never informed me until I arrived.So I go in the next day and I get an attitude from his staff and the doctor took calls while checking me out.This guy is a great surgeon I'm sure but he's a real jerk as a person.

The entire office, including nurses and reception, were prompt and courteous. Dr. Pettit was funny and disarming for someone who has never had surgery before. Would go back in a heartbeat, but hopefully won't have to...

Dr. Pettit performed a bilateral inguinal hernia repair on me and did so admirably as I have recovered and now back to 100%. My hesitation to rating him higher is the shock I got when billed not by him but by Henrico Doctor's Hospital for the procedure. $80,000 for everything and this is after I called his office, the anesthesiology group and the hospital to get cost estimates (total <$10,000). I just feel I should have been given a "heads up" from his office as to the costs of this procedure..
I had to reschedule since their calendar and your online system did not line up. I will be going next week.
