I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I had foot surgery that put me up for 6 weeks. After the surgery was complete, they pulled the pin out of the toe which was supposed to correct the laying down direction it was doing, and nothing. It went back to the same position prior to surgery but worse. His response ' Wow, that is not at all what I thought was going to happen'. Really ???? that's your expert medical opinion. Save yourself lots of out of pocket expenses and go somewhere else.
Dr. Helfrey is the rudest doctor I’ve ever met. From the moment he walked into the exam room he had a bad attitude. He makes a lot of assumptions and doesn’t listen. I came in with a foot issue and he didn’t even bother to exam or even touch my foot. He even went as far as to mock me and make fun of my accent. All this with the the exam room door wide open and within earshot of patients in the surrounding exam rooms. So much for patient confidentiality! waited 1 hour 20 minutes after check in. Did not listen to what my previous x-ray report from last month says and insisted on new x-ray. A biased behavior. Have used several medicines and wanted to see if injection will help - but he did not even listen that. His assistant says he wants to do MRI where my pain level is hardly 2 out of 10 range. Excellent surgeon who cares about his patients. I wouldn’t be walking again if it wasn’t for the skill and care of this surgeon and his team. I am forever grateful.
Never made it. I was told the doctor would not look at my black toe. I said that is not what the problem is. I have bruising that comes and goes across the top of my foot. This after half the time I call there is a circuit busy buzz to their number. So I guess they were cancelling my appointment never saw me.
I had surgery on my left toe in 2014 and now surgery on my right toe a week ago. Dr. Helfrey is the best surgeon with a great group of people in his office including Dr. Jeff. Two successful surgeries, and I could not be happier! Plus he has a great bed side...very nice!! I wish he could be my primary doctor.
don't trust his diagnostic, and always get a second opinion from another doctor, I had a broken toe, and I knew I needed a surgery and told him, but he said just tape it, he spent less than 15 minutes for me in two visits, of course no improvement after 3 weeks in my broken toe, so I went to another orthopedic surgeon and got a surgery right away Funny part, he sent a claim to my insurance company for over $400 for his treatment and diagnostic!!!!!!
I couldn't be paid to go back. So, no, no would never recommend. I only went to him, as my orthopedic sent me to him. Only gave one star, as lowest....
