The doctor was good when I first went there 6 years ago. He had many people staffed in the office. But a few years later, it was only that one older woman who is rude and has no idea how to do anything. It was a pain to get any information from her. Even now, I am trying to get my records and no one answers.
Dr. R. Gaskins has been my primary for 9 years if I had to base it on his rude ignorant receptionist I would have been gone long ago but because he is such a smart caring effective doctor I look over the lady that answers the phone. Yes she has hung up on me as well. Dr. Gaskins should know that woman can potentially ruin his practice. Folks he really is a god doctor, I hope and pray he finds another receptionist because she is bad for business. I will stay with Dr. G.
Been Dr. Gaskins patient for 2 years: -Receptionist must know the reason for each apt, refuses if you don't say & messes up often. -Wait time is 45+ minutes even if you're the first in/empty office. -Gaskins refuses to discuss anything about your diagnoses. He is quick to prescribe meds without talking. -Saw him for two months for a rash that was allergies, later refused to acknowledge rash existed. -NO WALK-INs -Wanting to charge for tests 100% covered by insurance
We had the worst experience with this doctor. First time we felt very rushed, then were given a referral to have a colonoscopy which turned out great but when I called to follow up with dr. Gaskins his staff didn't seem to know what to do next. They gave me the run around until I was adamant that they have a follow up with my husband. Lot of good that did! The doctor rushed him out the door without any kind of diagnosis then gave him a prescription for Viagra? A very expensive prescription too!
Dr. Gaskins is knowledgeable, kind, and caring. He listens intently and responds clearly always ensuring that I understand whatever he may be explaining or prescribing with regard to my health care concerns. His delivery is deliberate, as well as intelligent. I never feel rushed. Dr. Gaskins staff is welcoming and always greet me immediately. At times, if they feel they have kept me waiting too long they have even waved my co-pay on occasion. They are always friendly and very professional
The lady who answers the phone usually is extremely rude and unprofessional. She's very abrasive and has hung up on me mid-sentence twice (before I'm even able to confirm my appointment date/time). Once she even scheduled me on a day the clinic is closed. Dr. Gaskins has also misrepresented treatment options and attempted to change my medication (a very effective and necessary one) without justification. Simply the worst GP I've ever had.
