My visit with Dr. Gupta was wonderful. She sat and explained about my Cataracs told me the procedure that needed to be done. I set up the appointment went to the Blue Ridge surgical center to have it done and it was absolutely amazing. Dr. Gupta is the ultimate professional, she listens to your concerns, she calms your fears, and anything that you wish to speak with her about she listens. She is an amazing person. Dr Gupta sat on her stool with her back to me the entire consultation. I asked questions to the back of her head. She never extended the courtesy of turning around and facing me. When I expressed concern about a specific choice for cataract surgery, her response was shockingly sarcastic. She was dismissive of the less costly choices for cataract surgery, and seemed intent on up-selling the more expensive surgeries. The office staff and supporting technicians were exceptional. I went with high hopes. The desk and supporting staff was exceptional. Unfortunately, Dr. Gupta did not measure up to these external standards. During the consultations she never once looked at me or made eye contact, outside of examining my eyes through the machine. That was the only time she faced me. Dr. Gupta is an excellent physician who has treated my dry eye syndrome and provided routine eye care for several years. Over a number of years, I had 4 different ophthalmologists try to address my dry eye syndrome. Not until I starting seeing Dr. Gupta did I receive successful treatment. She also performed cataract surgery on both eyes, which was very successful with no complications. Dr. Gupta combines professionalism with a caring spirit

I have not been seen by this Doctor as of yet. I made an appointment with her May 2019 scheduled it for September 2019 and in July I received a notice of cancellation of my appointment and no other appointment replaced it. I waited a long time as she came highly referred but I know they could have done better with this appointment.
More than 3 years ago, she performed cataract surgery on both of my "peepers" I can see as when I was 20- no glasses. She's an awesome surgeon and provides great aftercare. I highly recommend Dr. Gupta!!
Dr. Preeya Gupta is a fantastic surgeon and caring person. I have had numerous surgeries with other doctors for other conditions which left my remaining eye with a difficult corneal transplant surgery to the point that only Dr. Gupta would do the transplant. My sight has improved so much after 2 months that I am amazed to be seeing things that had thought impossible. Other corneal specialists have commented on the precision of her work. Thank you Dr. Gupta.
She performed cateract surgery and perfect in patient friendliness, and took great care in ensuring comfort throughout the treatment span. Great doctor and staff at Duke Eye Center.
