Doctor Kelkar is an amazing and gifted surgeon. Before meeting him, I could only walk for 5 minutes before needing to sit, because that sciatica had a strong hold on me. Doctor Kelkar explained the procedure, expected recovery and the expected results after having the microdiscectomy/laminectomy. I had L4/L5 Microdisectomy and Dr. Kelkar and his team were awesome! He was very to the point on the consult. Answered any questions I had and even, per my request, explained the process like I was 5yo. Surgery was perfect and quick. The recovery process was easy simple. No pain at all, which was surprising to even him. 3 months after am I am still in zero pain and now just getting back to normal life. This is my experience and realize that it might not be for everyone. I'd recommend.

Couldn’t be happier with Dr Kelkar, super personable and makes you feel comfortable. I had a severely herniated disc at L5/S1 for almost two years, tried every “conservative” option and nothing was working. Got so bad that I could barely walk or stand up for more than a few minutes. He did a microdiscetomy/laminectomy and as soon as I woke up post op the pain was so much better that i felt almost normal for the first time in years. Right now I’m a month and half out and still doing great!
