Be prepared to pay thousands upfront for procedure (even with private health) to receive no aftercare/follow up only to be told to go to your GP for any pain meds. Asked if nurse can answer questions post op but she has a 3 week wait! Kept hitting a brick wall, ended up back in emergency at SJOG Murdoch, paid another $300 but received the best care and put back on track. Please save yourself a lot of pain and money.
DONT GO TO DR TAYLOR !! SERIOUSLY For the past 8 years L4/5 L5/6 Have deteriorated to the point I am unable to walk more than 5 minutes without excruciating pain. Today I left Coles in tears as I couldn't walk anymore. I had cervical spine problems 10 yrs ago they put a plate in (a Qsld surgeon) and fixed my pain almost completely. When I saw Paul Taylor he was completely disinterested, recommended I read a book and advised me he doesn't do surgery until it's "bone on bone". I’m happy that some reviewers have had a good experience with this Doctor. My daughter had her spine damaged during a procedure performed by Dr Taylor. Her life, already difficult due to back issues, became immeasurably worse. She was left with extremely SEVERE pain in her R foot and lower leg. For years she needed special dressings along the pain site to try to make it bearable. Also, she was unable to wear anything on the foot, unable to drive, to work, or to walk without a walker. Absolute waste of time. Was a pain to deal with from start to finish wasted nearl 6 months of dear time, which is lengthy when you're in crippling bed ridden pain from a herniated cervical disc completely squishing the nerve root that made me lose strength and most function in my whole arm. Paul said there was nothing he could do (which is neglect) other than a steroid injection. He is very condescending and unprofessional in my lengthy time dealing with specialists.
