My appointment was many years ago, but It was so awful and I still think about it all these years later, so I have A strong urge to leave this review. My appointment was unbelievably unprofessional. He did not look at me, Not even when I first walked in. I felt like a number not like a person he was unwelcoming and rude. I was treated by this doctor for two years, and my experience was extremely negative.so I stopped visiting him then my family physician referred me to another neurosurgeon in the same hospital. The situation with his staff at VGH was just as frustrating. They kept calling me and telling me I can see only Dr. Bishop. I was told my family doctor had no right to refer me elsewhere and that I was only allowed to see this physician. Dr. Bishop, After waiting more than two years for this appointment, I expected at the very least a phone call at the agreed-upon time. You were supposed to call at 9:00 AM. You didn’t. I called your office at 9:30 AM and again at 10:00 AM, and both times I was told someone would return my call. When your staff finally called at 10:15 AM, they claimed you had already tried calling me twice. That simply didn’t happen—no calls, no missed calls, no voicemail. Does not communicate very well, got no where with him after 6 months , have a dr now and is getting things done, my view of dr.Paul Bishop , I personally do not recommend him through my experiences.
I have a long story about this incompetent, dismissive and rude person. I say person because I don't think he deserves a health care title. I saw him in person with his arms folded the entire time, acted like he did not want to give any time with me from the start. So rude. Barely examined me...I don't expect him to be sunshine and rainbows but he was also incorrect about my spine and did not review my file, as in all the MRI, imaging, exams etcmore of the story but I'm trying to keep this review short.
