Dr. Burford herself if an excellent doctor who I've been seeing for my thyroid cancer for 8 years. However, her office has become increasingly difficult to work with. Nothing is done online or with my chart and frequently in the past 6 months to get anything done requires multiple phone calls and persistence on my end. Dr Buford seems to be a great doctor. I’ve only seen her once, but she was kind, caring, and described in detail what was going on. However, I have had nothing but trouble working with her office staff. Specifically, not providing me with all the information I need to move forward, calling and telling me that they’ve been calling me since January and then say February 28. Dr. Burford is a brilliant doctor. When I was diagnosed with osteoporosis I researched the options. There was a drug called Forteo that was experimental that increased the production of osteoblasts the bone building part of bone metabolism but with some adverse side effects. Are you willing to try it and take the risks? It worked well for me except for kidney stones which I developed. But that has nothing to do with the doctor. Any treatment has risks. This doctor might be "brilliant" and knowledgable; however, doctors like her give doctors in general a bad name. She has put herself on a pedestal and the patients have to crawl in homage to have access to her greatness. She has forgotten what the human connection is. Patients are bloodwork and chart notes. And her office apparently is a revolving door for staff - seems always someone different in the front office screening patients from her almighty. and her staff have no people skills.
