His bedside manner is not one of compassion. Sometimes when dealing with individuals with emotional needs, you can't afford to be rude with a lack of understanding. Dr. Mandelbaum uses his position to bully patients, and he is also unwilling to go the extra mile when dealing with patients. My suggestion is to find a different doctor.
I was recommended to see Dr. Kohler after my initial psychiatrist who diagnosed me Bipolar retired. I was Dr. Kohler's patient for ~5 years till I finally tapered off meds before becoming an adult. After a decade without the meds I found out I NEVER was Bipolar! I only had a manic episode after the original psychiatrist (not Dr. Kohler) gave me meds for ADHD that caused it. I have had several complaints filed with Aurora regarding Dr. Mandelbaum. He does not listen to his patients, he is always in a rush to get you out of his office or off the phone, he discharged me with out my knowledge and he takes forever to fill a prescription. He is not caring, his patients are just a number. I would not ever recommend him to anyone seeking help.

Uncomfortable before I saw him. Wasn't sure at all what to expect from him. He was very nice the first two times but after that he was rude and/or angry. Who needs that?
Dr. Kohler is amazing! She listens and cares about her patients. She goes the extra mile. She’s amazing with adults and children. She makes everyone feel comfortable.
Extremely disappointed with his obvious lack of caring and professional ability to help formulate a plan of healing and recovery.
This doctor put me on meds that made my hair fall out and when told about it he said bald is beautiful. He also pushed for me to have ECT treatments. When I finally said I would have the treatments I asked where I go to have them done and he told me to go to the front desk and ask for a list of doctors who do the treatment. I said don't you have a doctor you can refer me to for that or a doctor you trust and he said well you pump the gas in your car anywhere don't you. Untrustworthy doctor!
He overcharges for appointments and charges for services not rendered. I lost my short term disability and all health insurance because he didn't update my insurance company with the progress of my condition when it was requested. His office also overcharged me on my copays when I had insurance. I believe this doctor is paying to have my posts taken down cause he doesn't want anyone to know how truely terrible he is. This doctor is a waste of time and an even bigger waste of money. Bad doctor!!
