If you have private insurance, go elsewhere. This office caters to state medical cards and if you need a payment plan to help you with your deductible, you will be asked to leave. I was seeking treatment for my teenage son, who suffers from suicidal thoughts. They never bothered to bill me, but once my bill hit $928, Dr. Salam’s wife gave me 3 choices. Pay in full, go beg the therapist to treat my son for free, or get out. She refused to accept my $50 payment, with regular $50 payments to follow and screamed at me repeatedly... read more
I went in for treatment for ptsd and ADHD and was, like everybody else, prescribed Depakote. The PA (who you will actually see as the doctor is never there) prescribed me lamictal which treats things entirely unrelated to my symptoms and diagnosis. They had me return in 2 weeks to treat me for ADHD and instead gave me more lamictal and added atarax, an antihistamine.. you can't make this up. AVOID THIS PLACE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
I am not leaving a review but I do have a question. I've never been to a psychiatrist but I've been to quite a few docs and I've been diagnosed w severe obsessive anxiety and I used to be on a 2mg klonopin for 7 years and cut off cold turkey because of another med I live with a nurse so I can be motored I don't abuse my medication but I need to be back on that or something like it anyways cause it gives me energy and I feel normalWas wonderin if he listens and gives u what u actually need??
Admitted my mother to inpatient services at UHC for bipolar mania. She was told by the doctor that she was not manic and she was discharged. She was clearly manic to everyone in our family but because one of the symptoms of bipolar mania is that the patient can't see it we had to admit her. Extremely desctructive to a manic person to tell them they are not, when he is in that position. Hopefully she doesn't kill herself or someone else until we get this straightned out by a real doctor
The rudest man I have ever met. WIERD! He should not be the admitting doctor at UHC for any kind of problem,,let alone depression. What a hateful man!!!! Also his desk clerk came out one day and sprayed the patients with lysol!!! I can not believe you allow him to practice. Cob webs were hanging off furniture, filthy Place! He also put me on an anti phsycotic drug and I ended up in the ER. Stroke symptens. He should not be allowed to practice!!!!
He does not care to listen. He prescribed something completely off from what my husband was seeking treatment for and refused to change the meds when asked. My husband went to his office twice and maybe talked to the actual Dr. for 2 minutes total.
I would not recommend Dr. Salman to friends or family. Our experience is that he is not interested in listening to the patient and you will see very little of him if at all. He can be very condescending to the patient.
My daughter saw him in psych ward (11/13-11/18/2015 at UHC in Clarksburg, WV, she was suicidal. When released, it was about a month for her 1st appt. She made an attempt on her life 11/29, we took her to Fairmont General, they released her. Called Dr.Salman's office on 11/30, saw a PA. At \at her request, added a med. that worked at hospital. Asked for Therapist, told they would set it up, nothing ever happened. She has never seen Dr. Salman after the hospital,
As a patient you will see little of Dr. Salman. He depends on PAs. You only spend
