Dr. Matsumoto represented himself to be the appointed 'patient safety physician' when I met him, at Kaiser, San Rafael. I presume he does this in addition to his pediatric practice, though he doesn't appear to take his patient safety role seriously, which speaks volumes. Among other things, I shared concerns with Matsumoto regarding unsafe practices at the Terra Linda ER. The ER scenario was fraught with incompetence, and worse. Dr. Matsumoto is incredible. He always takes the time to answer questions and support our parent anxiety. He is always happy to explain what is going on and what choices we have without making us feel like bad parents. Stellar!
