Great surgeon. Compassionate. Staff wonderful
Dr. Boland did a Lumbar Laminectomy for me which helped me tremendously! Unfortunately I fell and broke my pelvis and a vertebra on my back. So now I am definitely going back to Dr. Boland. He explains everything to you and answers all of your questions. He takes his time to make sure that you have all of the information that you need for a decision and does NOT rush you!
My MRI showed a significant problem at my L4/L5 disc. Dr. B’s schedule is full but I was in great pain so I decided to schedule a first apt. w/ his NP Amy. She helped me greatly with the nerve pain and got me onto Dr. B’s schedule earlier than I could have. Within 3 weeks, I was walking out of the hospital the same day of my micro discectomy rather than the fusion the first doctor recommended. A week later I was pain free and walking 4 miles in an hour. Not bad for a 67 year old guy. GRATEFUL
Dr. Boland completely fixed my back over seven years ago after an accident that had injured my back three years before. By the time I saw him I was in serious pain almost 24 hours per day, and could not lie down on my bed or find any way to escape the pain, except I could get a little temporary relief from a tens machine. I was around 62 at the time. I had had a disk removed when I was in my mid 30's, and the VA said they would not touch me. Dr. Boland said he was 95% sure he could fix me.
Very compassionate and excellent communicator of what the surgery would entail. Haven't spoken with anyone that doesn't highly recommend him patients and staff!
Great doctor that did surgery on my lower back for anterior 2 level fusion with great successful results. I highly recommend Dr. Boland
Dr. Boland is a very personable doctor who doesn't rush you through your appointment. I've had one spinal surgery performed by Dr. Boland and everything after the surgery played out exactly as he had explained. When it became apparent that I would need another spinal surgery, I had no considerations other than Dr. Boland. Staff is very efficient, as well.
Dr. Boland is the very best NeuroSurgeon by far. I was turned away from Barnes - after 2 MRI's and I could not walk. Two days later I took the images into him (I was admitted due to a high fever, UTI, and the fact that I could not walk or get up on my own). He looked at the MRI's for 10 minutes, came back after checking out my spine rupture and said he would get me into surgery the next day. If nothing would have been done, I would have been a paraplegic....according to him. A+++++++++++++++++++
