I hate to leave negative reviews, especially because Dr. Melman seemed like a really nice and knowledgeable professional, and in terms of checking your vision he is undoubtedly really good. However, it took me six months, a trip to Europe and a totally different ophthalmologist to actually cure a so called “dry eye syndrom” I was diagnosed with by Dr. Melman. It appeared I only needed one visit to the microbiology lab, to learn I had a type of a mite living on my lashes called Demodex, causing redness and irritation to my le... read more

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Melman for years. He's caring, considerate, thorough and always makes time to answer your questions or concerns. His staff....the best bunch in the business!! They are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. The selection of glasses is top notch! Every designer brand you can think of! Anita will make sure you pick the best fit for your "new face". You've tried the rest, now just go to the best...Eyeland!

BEWARE! This one of the worst practices in SNJ. Dr. Patel is mediocre at best and misdiagnosed my eye blurriness as a consequence of a previous peripheral corneal ulcer. Dr. Melman told me the same thing and said my eye condition would resolve itself within 6 months. I decided to get a third opinion from a respected ophthalmologist in the area and was told I had a posterior subcapsular cataract and needed surgery to fix. My wife was diagnosed by Dr. Patel as having possible eye cancer and was referred to Wills Eye, After mee... read more

I've gone to Dr. Melman's for almost 20 years and highly recommend him and Eyeland. He's patient and methodical when my prescription needs to be changed and he explains the examination process step by step. His staff is great about finding a way to fit me in his schedule right away if I have an injury or infection. Also, Anita always suggests eyeglass frames that work with my prescription and are super stylish too. So many of the European and designer frames she stocks are like works of art.

I have been a customer of Dr. Melman‘s for at least 6 to 7 years. Not quite sure I’m a senior citizen. Unfortunately, for me, I have to work in addition to collecting my Social Security in order to survive. I’m a school bus driver And I rely tremendously on my contacts. This is not the first time that I’ve had an outstanding bill where I would tell them can I make payments they send me the bill and I make $25-$50 payments a month until it’s paid off. Same as this time they presented me with $190 bill which I wasn’t expecting... read more
