Wow, I really wish I had read reviews of Dr. Gu prior to accepting an appointment with her (as my PCP was unavailable) in Feb'2022. I had a lingering cough from COVID and wanted an Rx for cough medicine with codeine in it to help me sleep at night. I was on the phone with her for less than 10 mins (tele-health visit) and she billed me for a 99215, when it should have been a 99213 at most. So now I am stuck with a $687 bill because she's a liar and said that she spent 40 mins on my case, and there's really no way to disprove ... read more
Excellent physician- very kind and helpful. Knows medicine very well.
I saw Melinda Gu for a visit that she could've easily avoided and sent me to a specialist. She tried to convince me to get irrelevant tests Hepatitis etc. This has turned into an over priced billing nightmare and additionally billed me for several other tests — she's manipulative in that sense. She overbilled $2000 for these additional tests (all taken from the same blood). I too would never recommend Melinda. We were recommended by our endocrinologist to Dr. Gu, and been seeing her for 10 years already. She has always been a good listener and provided helpful recommendations and suggestions at clinic visits. Very caring person and remembers our family well. Request for specialty referral from her has been smooth as medically indicated. Easy to schedule our visits with her, and the virtual visits lately were very convenient, too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to friends and family.
