I love Dr Perkins ! I went to him for years and my 2 little boys go to him now. He's always been super helpful and caring. Gives them the meds they need when they need it they are 3yrs and 11 months right now. Always knows what he is talking about and the kids LOVE him! When my first son started wheezing he gave him an inhaler first to try but when that wasn't working well he gave the breathing machine and Albuterol since it wasn't that he was just congested and it was he actually needed it. Highly recommend him!
I have been under his care for 15 years. (20 maybe?) My 12 and 14 year old children have seen Dr. Perkins their entire lives. I have multiple health issues and Dr. Perkins ALWAYS takes the time to listen to all my questions and answers them in understandable terms. He is very personable and approachable in my opinion. I have seen a ton of doctors in my time. I HATE doctors, but he is the exception. Karen the office manager is amazing. Sally, Terri, Missy, and the rest of the medical staff are too. They always find a way to s... read more
Dr. Perkins is a wonderful doctor dedicated to quality patient care.
I have reviewed the comments here, and basically what it comes down to is this- if you don't want to hear the truth don't ask. He is honest and to the point. I like that, I don't want a smoke screen from my doctors and I sure don't want more pills shoved on me. He always has time for my questions, no matter how petty. Can't get in to see the doctor? Then when you make the appointment ask that it be with the doctor instead of the Nurse. I have been seeing him for 4 years, and while I may not like the answers to my questions- ... read more
I would definitely not recommend using him as a Dr. We did because my wifes 18 year old brother went there growing up. We have a 2 year old and a 8 month old. Not once have we went in there where he did not say "Oh that's just part of growing up." One time we went to a minute clinic and they prescribed a breathing machine for breathing treatments because they both wese very bad. Dr perkins said that was not necessary and that those clinics are just in it for the money and have no clue what they are diagnosing. Guess what? Th... read more
I LOVE Dr. Perkins! He has always been on time and extremely helpful! He has never once made me feel like he's in a hurry. He has always been willing to answer all of my questions. He is very practical and upfront. I think maybe all these people that have commented here are just way sensitive and do not understand his sense of humor. He's great with kids (mine LOVE him) and has always gone above and beyond! There have also been a lot of comments about patients only seeing the nurses..I've seen him every time except once..whi... read more
I have seen this Dr. many times, but not because of his fantastic attitude or aptitude for what he does. I just hate switching doctors and filling out all those papers. I went to him and I was experiencing several problems so I wrote them down on some paper. When Dr. Perkins asked me what was wrong and he saw me pull out the paper, his eyes got as big around as saucers. He said "Whoa! How much have you got on that? I said "Well, about 5". He almost freaked out! He said "Well, narrow it down to 3 and then make another appoint... read more
One of the worst doctors I have ever been to. He is arrogant and demeaning. He has absolutely no bedside manner or compassion, and tries to make you feel stupid. He is very insecure of himself (probably because he's 5'5"). He misdiagnosed my son telling me there was nothing wrong with him. The next day he was in the hospital at Vanderbilt with pneumonia ( a Nurse Practitioner made the diagnosis). I have never seen anyone so cocky and with absolutely no reason to be. If anything he should be ashamed.
I LOVE DR.P! He has been my doctor for nearly ten years now, and now that I am grown and have children... well, he's their doc too. I have never had any issues with him (office staff is another story...sometimes rude and lose information a lot) He has called to check on myself and my girls during an ongoing illness and spent time talking with myself and my husband about medications, diagnosis, treatment and so on. His nurses are great! Sally has been with him forever, and she too will spend time talking with myself or my hus... read more
