Dr. Akbari performed a cath to corroborate previous tests from my local cardiologist. I wanted the second opinion because I was an ICU RN and thought my test results were in error. Sure enough, they were and Dr. Akbari explained the errors and how and why they may have happened. Dr. Akbari saved me immeasurable anxiety and it was well worth the 7 hour trip to Fairfax from North Carolina. I will go to no one else for my cardiac care.
Dr. Akbari is a terrific doctor! She has a reputation as a top cardiologist that is very well-deserved. She's incredibly knowledgeable and has always given me excellent care and treatment. And she's compassionate, down-to-earth, and a terrific listener, to boot. She goes above and beyond for her patients (and I thank her for it)!
As a colleague physician and also a patient, Dr Akbari is a rare find. Not only is she a superbly skilled interventional cardiologist but she is also thorough, meticulous, patient and with an impeccable human approach to her patients. Dr.Akbari is an unequalled asset to INOVA Cardiology and the medical profession as a whole.
Excellent, excellent, excellent – Dr. Akbari is one of the best doctors I’ve ever visited. She is thorough and knowledgeable and, best of all, was willing to experiment with anti-angina treatments until she got optimal result. Dr. Akbari is exactly as others have described her – empathetic, curious and an excellent listener. Witty, too. Any way to clone her for the good of society? Her assistant, Carla, is also stellar.
I have been one of her patients for a decade. She has a lively, inquisitive mind and is quick to solve problems other physicians cannot. One of my other doctors once told me that Dr. Albariño was “the smartest person” she knew. What more could you ever want?

Dr. Akbari is one of the best doctors I've ever seen. She takes the time to get to know you and listen to you and helps you really understand what's going on with your health. She has a great sense of humor, is approachable, knowledgable, and really cares. Her and her staff make you feel very comfortable, and her offices are super clean. I've always had positive experiences with Dr. Akbari and her office.
The best ever. Would not trust my families heart to anyone else. Thank you for always being there. You will have the most knowledgeable, empathetic, and expert cardiologist. She would play be there for your family.
