Due to the severe trauma I had been subjected to in 2013 when Anterior Elevate mesh was implanted, I had put several conditions in place for any surgery to protect myself from further harm. I had been left suicidal on and off for 8 long years. It took me 3 years to find Dr Carey. He listened to me and worked with me to achieve my desired outcome - removal of the mesh abdominally. Almost 10 years ago a friend encouraged me to go to Melbourne from Queensland to see Dr Carey. After many years of unexplained pelvic and lower back pain I finally found someone who listened. Dr Carey removed my mesh device. A few years later I had a native tissue repair that has further improved my quality of life. Dr Carey gave me my life back.
