My experience with Dr. Geller and his office was underwhelming. While he’s clearly trained and experienced, I left each visit feeling dismissed rather than cared for. As someone who manages chronic conditions and actively advocates for my health, I didn’t feel that this was welcomed. His manner was curt, and I felt judged —which made the environment uncomfortable. He did my mother's hip replacement and did an excellent job. I go to him for my various falls and sports injuries. He is not only an excellent physician but he has excellent listening skills and an all around wonderful person.
I had a consultation with Dr. Geller recently. The visit was fine, nothing particularly bad, but nothing outstanding either. What left a sour taste was being referred to their partner hospital (Verdugo Hills) for the MRI because they are also part of the USC group. They charged me an outpatient rate for a standard MRI, which ended up costing a fortune. In the past, similar MRI's have cost me 60% less out of pocket. I wish there had been more transparency about the costs involved.
I would give zero stars if I could. I felt like this doctor did absolutely nothing to mitigate pain from a serious injury -- the injury was well documented through an MRI and I could not work, or sleep. He did nothing. His office was going to try to get injections approved (which I later learned would be ineffective) and it was impossible to get a call back, a status, an update or anything, after multiple messages. Dr. Geller performed surgery on my rotaor cuff on 10/23/23. I had a full thickness tear throughout the supraspinatus tendon. Dr. Geller was great to work with on my diagnosis and pre-opp visits. He explained everything thouroughly in a way that was easy to understand. I started rehab about 7 weeks after the procedure, and my PT was amazed at my range of motion and progress thereafter and mentioned several times that I must have had a great surgeon.
