Dr. McCandless has treated me for over two years. She is a highly skilled professional and has helped me overcome my depression. I wish I hadn't wasted so many years struggling with this disease before seeking help. The office staff and the facilities are very pleasant and accommodating. Thanks to Dr. McCandless, I now easily cope with any challenges that come my way. I have found happiness, and enjoy life with my spouse of 48 years.
I've seen Dr. McCandless twice now and I find her to be very engaging, easy to talk to and empathetic.
She started the appointment by looking at the paper and then calling me by the wrong name. They would not schedule me until I gave a complete psychiatric history including current medications then when all is said and done she refuses to treat me because she views my lifestyle as inherently self harming. Waste of my time, frankly. On top of all of this I found her very close minded and her demeanor was cold. I could not leave that building fast enough once I met her.
I had to quit seeing Dr. McCandless because she didn't take my insurance at the time, but she is now. I want to go back. The thing I hated - and loved - was that she held me accountable for my own well being. She spent at least 30 minutes every appointment and delved into anything that I might be doing to sabotage my health. If you want a doctor who expects you to be involved in your own recovery, see her. There are doctors that don't care. She is not one of them - she cares.
Found Dr. McCandless to be very thorough.
Not friendly, very rude, I felt more depressed when I left, she should be a probation officer and not a psychologist! Never recommend her.
Dr. McCandless is a wonderful doctor and person. She is caring, spends time with her patients, emphatic, listens, approachable and very pleasant. I visited her for my anxiety issues and after taking a very thorough and lengthy personal history, she prescribed for me a personalized treatment plan. She routinely sees me to ascertain how I am getting along, and will adjust treatment if needed. I can honestly say I feel SO MUCH BETTER and she has given me my life back. I trust her.
Dr McCandless is very caring and takes the time to listen to how your feeling and how medications are working. She remembers my situation visit to visit. She researches medication options. I trust her immensely and look forward ot my office visits with her.
This woman's office staff will not even schedule a new patient until you tell her what medications you are currently taking, since based on that information, the doctor weeds people out. We also got about 15 appointment reminder calls and emails, which just border on harassment, I told them I would be there, the extra 14 notifications were unnecessary. After waiting nearly 3 months to get in, at the end of the appointment, she said she didn't feel comfortable treating me, big waste of time and $
