I would never recommend this doctor. My loved one saw him years ago and needs help again, but he never called back. I personally called three times, leaving messages twice. No response. I finally convinced my loved one to call, and they also left a message saying they needed help. Still nothing. What kind of doctor ignores a patient in need? Absolutely terrible!
remember me? Roxanne alton miss you
I have been a patient of Dr. Kelmenson for about 15 years. He ha prescribed meds for a sleep disorder and depression. Dr. Kelmenson not only prescribed medications that have changed my life for the better, but makes sure I reduced them when necessary. He also pointed out that I should not be on all the meds that my neurologist had me on. I have been reducing medications for the last few years and feel so much better. He has always kept me on the minimum dosage of meds.
Totally flabbergasted by my experience with Dr. Kelmenson. He literally is a Psychiatrist that does not believe in mental illness. He told me that mental illness is a social construct, and that there are no links to genetics and mental illness. He also stated that taking anti-depressants had a placebo effect and nothing more in 99% of cases. As someone who studied psychology in school and has been on medication of over 12 years, I am disturbed. Do not recommend.
I'd only recommend Dr. Kelmenson to someone with a very mild problem who can still work full time & function normally. He doesn't believe in mental illness AT ALL. He believes it's a social construct - that all so-called mentally ill people are actually fine & don't realize it. He just wasn't hearing me about the severity of my disorder. I had a feeling he wouldn't back me up if I needed to prove I'm disabled. He was very sweet, but he didn't get me at all. I didn't fit into his theories.
I saw Dr. Kelmenson weekly for over a year. He's very nice, awkwardly funny and listens plus he remembers everything which is great. However, I stopped going to him because he doesn't keep records (which I needed for disability and was denied because of that) and because I felt like it is out of touch with the real world. I felt like I needed to waste time on the basics so he really had no advice to offer me.
