I had the best experience with Dr Kim.Initially, I was a bit scared when I was told that I needed a pacemaker. Dr Kim put me at ease and gave me time to make my decision. When I did get the pacemaker, the procedure went great, and I especially appreciated the cath lab team who made everything go smoothly. Best of all, Dr Kim has maintained close follow-up afterwards to make sure everything continues to go well. And it has!
I can not give negative stars but we are still considering reporting Kim to the Medical board. He was so forceful, aggressive and disrespectful to my elderly mother when she was having a pacemaker put in by him that even the other hospital staff in the room at the time told her to report him. The abhorrent treatment of my mother was traumatic, and based on conversations we had afterwards with other doctors and staff, this was not this first time.
Staff was friendly but very disorganized. Dr. Kim seemed impatient and not focused. I suffer from severe anxiety which causes my BP to ramp up quickly. He just recommended more pills and at no point was interested in my comments about what is actually going on. Loose weight, be happy, eat right seems to be his mantra. No wanting to dig deeper to see what's really going on. Isn't that the reason we go to specialists? To get a real evaluation of what is happening? My personal doctor has better care and she's not a specialist!
He has done so much for me in 18 yrs. My dad sees Dr. Rubenstein and he saved my dads life.
Dr Kim has been monitoring my heart arrhythmias for several years and has performed two successful heart ablations. He has also placed a implanted heart monitor and worked tirelessly to discover the extent of my problems. Answers questions thoroughly and spends lots of time reassuring me.
My visit with Dr. Kim was a consultation to explain results from an echo cardiogram and a Holter monitor. He failed to answer most of my questions but instead repeatedly responded with "live a healthy life style, lose weight and avoid alcohol". These are wonderful platitudes but do not answer my specific questions.

I think Dr, Kim is an excellent doctor and people should follow his advice. My problem is I do not follow the doctor's advice so I get into more trouble. I did quite smoking though because both Dr. Kim and Dr. Valent said I should quit or suffer the consequences. It took me a year to quit but I kept trying and I finally did quit. It is tough because I really like smoking.
