I am Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a special interest in orthopedic surgery so I have a lot of medical knowledge in the orthopedic field. My distal radial fracture was originally allowed to heal with an external cast placed at an emergency clinic. The fracture healed improperly. Dr. Holtkamp was able to surgically re-brake the radius, lengthen it and straighten the wrist and place a special bone plate to hold everything in place. At 4 months postoperative the wrist is perfect.
I think she is a wonderful Dr. I miss stepped and ended up with a compound fracture with a open wound, it was devastating. I never thought my wrist would be the same again. That was 3 months ago and you would never know it, you can hardly see any scars. She is a very caring person.
