I went for my first appoint before my Colonospy. I noticed how organized and professional everyone was. Everyone was so friendly and eve whe something didnt look right to the Nurse Practicioner she never let on she just listened to me and schedule me for a follow up. He’s been my doctor for several years. I have complete confidence in him. I have never met any kinder doctor and one who takes your concerns seriously. He is very caring.
PATIENT BEWARE: If you schedule a procedure with Dr. Shakoor, he may be in-network, however his facility and anesthesiologist probably aren't. They state they tell you this prior to your procedure, but I wasn't told until after when I questioned the bill. They also only provide general information to your insurance company during pre-certification, and you will have surprise charges after the procedure and tell you that you are ultimately responsible for understanding your own insurance.
He saved my life...Dr. Shakoor is annoyingly thorough. I went to him for a routine colonoscopy and couldn't finish the prep cleansing. Dr. Shakoor said he wanted me to come back when I could do the entire process successfully. He gave me some anti nausea meds and I was able to complete the prep the second time. During the colonoscopy he noticed a slight discoloration and biopsied it. It turned out he'd discovered appendiceal cancer at an early enough stage to be treatable. He's my hero.
