Very condescending. Was not willing to listen to patient concerns. Did not collaborate with other specialist for surgery resulting in several trips to Rochester for appointments that he did not review. Stated that he knew more from his experience than anyone else including patient, family, and other specialists. Did not answer questions from patient and was callous and uncaring to family. Felt no confidence in him whatsoever.
Dr. Shen removed my esophageal tumor. Cannot say enough about him and his staff--saved my life.
Dr Shen preformed an esophagectomy in April of 2019 on me to remove the top portion of my cancerous esophagus. I met with him prior to surgery and he explained the procedure(the Ivor Lewis) in terms I could understand. He’s a caring physician and an awesome surgeon performing a very difficult surgery and one that’s been compared to open heart in terms of difficulty. I’m one of his success stories as in April of 2024 being 5 years cancer free! Thank you Dr Shen and your team!!!
Outstanding doctor helped with the removal of a tumor and did a great job explaining the process and conducting the surgery. His team was very helpful and actually cared about my health and recovery. If I need another simular surgery in the future I will definitely be coming back to him.
