I've been in my prior years to many other pain specialist that treated me with the most painful injections in my lower back, and my knees. Finally I was sent to Dr. Egas. by Dr. Deukmadjian for injections on my lower back to try and relieve some of the pain I was having.I was still paranoid with injections. I went to see Dr. Egas due to being diagnosed with three herniated disc’s in my neck. Once diagnosed I tried everything to relieve my pain. I went to see him to inquire if I was a candidate for an ESI injection in my neck. Once he reviewed my MRI he immediately told me that I would need to see their neurosurgeon Dr. Ahmadian. After calling no less than 5 times, I'm STILL unable to get an answer for what I'll be charged for the shots the doctor wants to do. They told me to call billing, but billing complained to me that they only answer questions after procedures, not before. I left a voicemail for someone who never called me back. They told me to call my insurance, but they just told me my deductible since they can't possibly know what the doctor will charge. Dr Egas was great! He has a wonderful best side manner and was very thorough with his evaluation/treatment plan. He performed my cervical ESI in the office. I had a great experience and I’m getting good relief of my pain! I would highly recommend him!!!

So many physicians "know" what is "wrong with you" and never take the time to include the patient in the healing process. Hence, so many patients do not get better because they do not "feel" heard. Dr. Egas listens. Listens with an open mind and heart. He includes the patient in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment process. When I told him it wasn't "okay" for me to live on pain pills for the rest of my life, he heard me. That's 90% of the healing process... Listening. After waiting 40 minutes to see Dr. Egas, can in the office and after talking with me for about 5 minutes when I questioned him on only treating pain by injections he said that I was beginning to irritate him and he was leaving the room. To which I replied after waiting to speak to him for 40 minutes he could show more courtesy to his prospective patients. What a huge waste of my money and my time. His name should be Dr. EGO.
