An outstanding physician. He explained everything very carefully and the surgery went extremely well.

I am a complicated case, and that is why we chose Dr. Cheng. He performed my 3rd spinal fusion and ended my pain cycle. Was realistic and spent a lot of time with me, also recommended a different and more appropriate approach.

As a college student at the time in nursing school, I was very active and required to be in good physical condition to be able to work with patients. I was in excruciating pain, as could have been explained by the slipped discs in my back, but felt like I was being treated like a drug seeker.

He is too busy to do surgery. Most likely one of his students will work on you. After all UC is a teaching hospital with lots of students

Wait time was longer because of surgery that ran long, which I hope he doesn't leave surgery for an appt. Took plenty of time and listened to my issues, examined my MRI's and X-rays, then ordered test to come up with some possible reasons for my pain from previous surgery. My previous surgeon wanted to do more surgery in an area I had no pain?? Realizing nerves may not be effected directly at the spot of pain, but researched enough that my previous surgeon was not covering the issue that would solve my pain.

Dr. Cheng was very knowledgeable and explained what was going on and my procedure very well. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable and ready to proceed. My spinal nerve was severely compressed causing tingeing and numbness in my arms and torso.

Dr. Cheng did my second back surgery. I was so miserable, it made me sad each morning when I woke up! Dr. Cheng, after examing me,told me he thought he could help me. He could not promise I would be pain free. I feel that I have been given a second chance at life! I feel wonderful, I am not pain free, but my pain is manageable with stretches, exercise & occasionally pain medication. I take Lortab5, 1 tablet maybe twice a week. Before my surgery, I was taking M.S.Contin, two/three per day. RELIEF
