My mom saw the elder Dr. James Rheim for a few years before he retired. He was always so kind; great doc. I called a year later to schedule my mom's "annual visit" thinking the son would see her, but the receptionist was rude while saying he was "not taking any new patients and even if he did, the wait would be one full year." I explained my mom could not wait one year due to the medication she used for a skin condition. Receptionist did not care about this. Bizarre practice. The elder Dr. Rheim was very personable, seemed to be knowledgeable in dermatology and provided very good follow-up communication on some biopsies. Called today for an appointment, reception told us he'd retired and basically hung up. Husband called back to try to schedule with Dr. Rheim Jr, and told "oh no, we can't transfer his patients to his son." We haven't had any explicit issues with front office staff here, but they are sincerely lacking in people and customer service skills.
As a physician myself for forty years in this town, I have a real advantage in judging the quality of care provided by another physician. I think Dr. Rheim is excellent. I find him very intelligent, extremely capable, and with a great bedside manner. His office staff has been wonderful. I'd give him 6 stars if that was possible.
Just had to reschedule an appointment with Dr. Joe. due to illness. Bonnie answered my call and could not have been nicer or more helpful. Even though he is booked out for a very long time, she took the extra time to find a slot to fit me in sooner. Appreciate this level of helpfulness.
The office manager should be fired. She was rude, and so was a dark haired woman in back of front office. Dr Rheim junior is nice, and no complaints yet. But their staff is really below par. Bonnie was nice . She was a person called me back.
