My husband has seen him twice, each time we were made to feel as if we were the only patients in the building. He is so kind, he genuinely cares, he is beyond thorough, went outside his specialty area and look at the problem area only to discovered an infection. He proceeded to "phone a freind" and consulted with her (in her specialty area), treat him with meds and created a care plan, including a follow-up appt (with her) with his colleague who does specialize in the area my husband is having the issue. I'm SO very impressed with Dr.Gurrola. I have been suffering with this problem for almost a year now. My previous Dr. Misdiagnosed me and I was then referred here to Dr.Gurrola. He has been so very patient , kind, and understanding. He quickly found the problem area that was out of his specialty but continued to treat me and send me to a colleague that did specialize in my symptoms. I have had wonderful experiences in UCSF, especially the neurosurgery department. However, I had a bad experience with Dr. Gurrola. I was diagnosed with a nasal tumor and a surgery was done by Dr. Gurrola to remove it. However, after this, I started getting sinus issues (I didn't have this before) and I'm still suffering from it. I'm also unable to breathe properly through the right nose after the surgery (especially during night time). I didn't have these issues before surgery. Dr Gurrola was amazing with me today even thoe I was a bit nerves after he looked up my nose and thank you all for such an amazing job!
