Dr Ortega is thorough and answered all my queries with proper details. He takes time to listen and explain things in layman terms and not spook you with complex terminologies. Thank you for the great care and the nurse made me comfortable within few seconds of the meet.
I thought his staff was great answered my questions and no unnecessary tests . Easy parking ,too .
Hi.I work in the medical field.This was my first appointment with an oncologist, iwas nervous I don't like to be a patient.But literally two after I meet Dr Ortega I feel very relaxed. Previous to my appointment he reviewed my history and when he spoke to me made me feel like he knew me for long time, made feel like a human being no just like a new patient.
Dr. Ortega is an excellent hematologist, I have been seeing him for several years. Recently I was diagnosed with a blood clot. It was a Friday afternoon when I went to see him (without an appointment) and he made time to see me. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a hematologist/ oncologist.

Would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone, staff in Boynton Beach office are horrible, after being seen by him at the hospital and told to make an appointment to be seen within the week, called to schedule appt, was told Dr Ortega won't see you for at least 3 weeks and if you need chemo, that would take another 4 weeks to start, by then you could be dead, which happens to be the case with my sister. Gives us hope and then sends in the nurse practitioner to tell us differently.
