My whole family has seen him for around 35 plus years and he delivered my grandchildren. I will be devastated if he retires before I die. He is kind, thorough and knowledgeable. He cares.
Have been going to this doctor for over 30 years. The last few times tried to get an appointment with him got the run around, they cancelled several appointments on me etc..finally put me with a nurse practitioner. So, I called for my yearly appointment and they told me that he didn't want to my doctor anymore. It appears from the website for Wilmington Medical that he isn't even in that office anymore. Honestly I had loved Dr. Merling for my prenatal care but the moment I went to the hospital to give birth he was absolutely awful and inappropriate. As soon as I was admitted he wanted to break my waters. I said that I'd like to wait and see what happens, if it would happen naturally on it's own and his response was "my dinner is getting cold".
